OSHA guidelines: Outlet pressure cannot exceed 30 PSI when dead-ended

Safety guidelines using these products relate to outlet pressure. 30 PSI is enough pressure to break the skin and cause physical harm. The outlet pressure should not exceed 30 PSI if the air blow gun or nozzle is properly designed to be OSHA compliant. Some air blow guns, require that line pressure must be regulated to 30 PSI or less for rubber tip to be OSHA compliant

PNEUMATIC MUFFLERS

OSHA guidelines: OSHA permits a noise level of 85dB for those working in an environment for 8 hours. The maximum permissible noise level is 90dB

Safety guidelines using these products relate to hearing protection. Exposure to high levels of noise can cause permanent hearing loss. Loud noises can also reduce worker productivity and contribute to workplace accidents by making it difficult to hear warning signals. By incorporating noise-reducing mufflers and breather vents, the decibel level of noise becomes greatly reduced

COUPLERS

One concern using these products relates to disconnecting a hose with air running through it. If there is sufficient pressure within the line and the coupler / plug connection becomes disturbed, this could cause the plug to prematurely release from the coupler. In doing so, the pressure still within the line could cause the hose to “whip”, putting the user in danger. Certain attributes can be added to couplers to hold the plug in place until the air has fully left the line. This can come in the form of an additional protective sleeve or a coupler release mechanism

INFLATOR GAUGES

OSHA guidelines: Hose length must long enough to keep the user out of the trajectory of a tire blow out or side ring separation

Safety guidelines using these products relate to tire inflation. Tire inflation shall be accomplished by means of a chuck with a sufficient length of hose (to keep the user out of the “blast zone”). Cases involving over-inflation or other explosion anomalies can be a potential danger.
